About Saida 

Saida Edwards is a multidisciplinary artist based in Oakland California. With over 5 years of experience in the film industry, she's worked on short films, music videos, narrative features, and commercial productions in various positions across departments. She has worked primarily in the Art Department and Camera Department. Her range of knowledge and experience in film production from the pre-production to post production processes allow her the flexibility to not only fulfill a range of positions, but also oversee and assist with projects from inception to completion.

In her personal work, Saida creates portraits of complex people at odds with society. She tackles expansive themes of identity, human connection, and existentialism by focusing on individual human stories. Aesthetically, her work  is a combination of magical realism and  psychological and body horror. Saida uses the paradoxical pairing of the beautiful and the grotesque to meditate on the pleasure of discovery and the painful setbacks humans experience on the messy journey to individual self-actualization and collective liberation.
